Common Mistakes
- Auditing only the recognition model. Most user harm happens downstream. in the agent, the workflow, or the logging. not in the embedding step.
- No cohort-sliced success rate. Aggregate accuracy hides the demographic disparity that regulators specifically ask about.
- Logging face crops for debugging. Biometrics under GDPR/BIPA are not normal data; redact or hash before persisting.
- Treating verification and identification as the same risk. 1:1 verification and 1:N identification have different false-positive economics.
